Definitions
Apex – The exact or geometric middle of the corner
BB&FT – Beer Bottles & Full Throttles. The second trophy race of the year.
Breathe the Throttle – To momentarily ease off the throttle pedal and return to the same position; usually wide open throttle (WOT)
Drifting – Intentionally inducing a loose condition (oversteer) and sustaining it for a period of time through the corner
Early Entry – Turning into a corner at an earlier point on the track
Flatfoot – Holding the throttle wide open all the way around the track
Forward Bite – Rear traction when you are getting back into the throttle as you complete the corner exit
Grip – The amount of traction the tires get with the track surface
IROK – Intoxicated Rednecks of Karting. The third and final trophy race of the year.
Late Entry – Turning into a corner at a later point on the track
Loose – When the rear tires lose traction and slide out; also known as oversteer
Push – When the front tires lose traction and will not steer the kart in the direction the wheels are pointed; also known as understeer
Roll Out – To let off the throttle from the full position
Tenth – One tenth of a second; 0.10
The Groove – The part of the track that has the most grip
